Here are the top three reasons students tell me they value me as their group leader.

Since I started Read Write Perfect, LLC, four years ago, I've assisted countless students in successfully completing their dissertations. The personalized support I provide has been crucial to this achievement. However, I've noticed a recurring issue – many of you describe feeling isolated. Without a community of peers and a structured, safe space to work in, progress can feel slow, and the journey can seem lonely.

The availability of such a community was one the highlights of my experience as a doctoral student at the University of Wales, and I credit it with a lot of my success as an academic. That's why the Scholarly Sister's Sanctuary was created - to give you the most positive dissertation experience possible!
1

I am a real professor with genuine higher education experience

I earned my PhD in 2009 from the University of Wales, and since then I have worked in academia as a professor and trained as a qualified teacher (check out my certificates below). As well as publishing books and articles in my own field (children’s literature), I have served as an editor and reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed publications. In the past year, I have helped more than 20 graduate students successfully complete their degrees--and I can help you, too.

2

I’m not a big company.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t really like crowds. When you work with me, you work with ME – not a big group of coaches. You always know exactly who you’ll be seeing in a session, and who will be reviewing your work – because it will be me.

3

I make your well-being as well as your success a priority.

There is too much toxic pressure, competition, and burnout in academia already – I refuse to add to it. Instead, I will look out for your overall wellbeing as well as just your completion deadline – even when you don’t remember to. I'll remind you to take breaks, suggest self-care strategies, cheerlead for you at every stage, and listen when you need to have a rant or vent some frustration. Think of me as your "dissertation doula"!

Co-writing sessions are available throughout the week at multiple times.

Why should I pay to join a co-writing group?
There are a lot of free writing groups out there - but they don't give you what you need. This ad-hoc coaching group is intended for students who are really serious about committing to a regular writing schedule - and looking for on-demand expert help as well as accountability. It's also exclusively for women, so you can enjoy a safe and supported space surrounded by your peers.

If you feel isolated, need peer support, struggle to work consistently on your dissertation, or need frequent help with dissertation questions, and are willing to be proactive about solving these problems, then this group is for you. The weekly co-writing sessions provide both consistency and support.
What are the benefits for me?
This coaching group has been designed to meet the needs described to me by countless students—which is one of the reasons the spaces are booked up so quickly! The group format means you can get more support hours each week and for a lower cost than traditional one-on-one coaching. More importantly, you’ll have the chance to connect with and work alongside other women just like you, so you never feel unsafe or alone while working. With me there in the sessions to answer your questions, you’ll also be able to overcome minor hurdles much faster than if you had to wait for your supervisor, and with the assurance of knowing the answer comes from years of dissertation expertise.
Is this group going to be too time-consuming for me?
Although the group offers multiple co-writing sessions each week, you are free to pick and choose which sessions to attend. Too busy this week? Just drop in for one, or half, or give it a miss altogether. Crunching to a deadline next week? Come to all the sessions! How involved you get in the group is entirely up to you—take full advantage of the benefits of accountability and support, but with the flexibility to suit your busy life. To get the most out of the group, I recommend committing to 2 sessions per week if you can.
What if I need more support?
Outside of workshop sessions, you’ll also have the Facebook community available for questions, social connection, and other forms of peer support, and the full resource library to mine for useful information as well. You’ll also have the ability to purchase all the add-on services (transcription, statistics support, plagiarism reports) that are not available to the wider public. And of course, if you need one-on-one coaching, you get priority on available spaces!
What if I give it a try, and it’s not for me?
Your subscription will automatically cancel after the one-month free trial, unless you choose to continue. Once you do subscribe, you can cancel your subscription at any time, no questions asked. I also offer an awesome guarantee: 1 year of group sessions free if you have not made progress after 1 month. What have you got to lose? 😊

When are the co-writing sessions held?

Workshop sessions are held throughout the week at various times to suit many different time zones.

Can anyone join?

Anyone who identifies as a woman and is working on an academic project is welcome to join the group. If you do not identify as a woman but still need support, please book a free back-on-track discovery call with me to discuss other ways I can help you get the support you need.
